Matt Wigman Better known as DJ Wiggy, passion for dance ...

Matt Wigman Better known as DJ Wiggy, passion for dance music came in 2000, when he would make weekly visits to Wigan Pier and Monroes. Idolising Ben Trengove and Pete Daley, he would listen for countless hours to tapes and CDs mixed by these DJ’s.

In early 2001, he bought his first pair of decks. He would regularly go to Power Records in Wigan and spend large amounts of money on vinyl. After building up his collection, and perfecting his skills, he decided it was time to make the leap from bedroom fantasist to professional.

After playing at a number of small clubs and bars, Wiggy’s first break came when he was introduced to Pete Daley.

He would go with Pete to all his gigs, and warm up the nights, or go back-2-back during his sets.

As Pete was a resident at Maximes Nightclub, Wiggy became friendly with the management there. With this, he was offered a set on Wednesday night’s under 18’s event, playing weekly with MC Finchy. After many months of doing the kid’s night, he was offered his first set on their successful main events on a Friday and Saturday.

Wiggy would play monthly at Maximes, on the National Anthems All-Nighter events.

As his confidence grew, so did his popularity. He became known for playing the right tunes, at the right time, and began to get countless guest bookings for other events. Although playing monthly at Maximes seemed like a dream job, disputes with the management, and silly DJ politics ‘hindered his progress’. Eventually, he decided that enough was enough and it was time for a fresh start.

He began djing at Medicine nightclub, which at the time was growing in numbers weekly. With this, his popularity again began to grow, and guest spots evolved. He finally got the phone call from John Neal, and his residency for Frequency was made.

Since then, he has played some of the biggest clubs and events in the UK Bounce scene. He recently won ‘Best Breakthrough DJ at the Bounce Heaven UK Bounce Awards. A recent booking in Alicante, Spain, shows that his popularity has grown overseas!

You can also catch Wiggy in the studio. Having previously produced tracks under the ‘Donk Monkz’ alias, he decided to join forces with Greenie. AMPM (Andrew Matthew Producing Music) was formed in the early months of 2008, and in under a year, have already remixed for some of the biggest record labels in the UK including All Around the World, 3Beat Records and Ministry of Sound. AMPM pride themselves on pushing production boundaries, and are gaining huge recognition for their unique, trademark basslines.

Be sure to expect big things in the future!

MC B began Mcing life as a versatile urban music MC. Developing his style in many Drum&Bass, Garage, Hip Hop and R&B raves around the UK. However the lure of the UK Bounce sound proved irresistible.

His big break came when childhood friend Mike Discala formed the Resonance Q group bringing Ben in as one half of the act. This allowed him to sample club life UK wide as they embarked on a successful tour to promote their Someday single. The successes of this allowed him to perform PA’s for Ultrabeat, Klubrockers and more recently Sosumi, AK Project, Outsource and Sound Selectaz.

His performances brought him to the attention of the Pleasure Rooms who recruited him to their already successful team. Their JUICE FM radio show has enabled his lyrical, innovative and rhythmic mcing style to be brought to a wider audience each and every Saturday night. Every summer they can be seen performing @ Boomerang Club in Majorca Spain, as well as major Clubs up and down the UK and Ireland.

Though an established multi-style dance music performer; Ben has not forgotten his urban music roots regularly hosting events that feature such artists as Tim Westwood, Trevor Nelson, DJ Spoony, Heartless Crew and Fire Camp.

He has recently formed a group known as Strictly Vybz which is an innovative dance collective consisting of 2 DJs and 3 MCs. They tour the country bringing their own brand of innovative urban/bounce house style to the dance music clubs of the UK. Their CD releases are amongst the most popular in the North West and bring a unique blend of quality lyrics and bouncy, energetic house lyrics.

Ben’s great performances saw him nominated for The Bounce Heaven Awards MC of the Year.

The last year has seen Ben begin to mix with the dance music mainstream. He was recently part of the platinum selling artist Basshunter’s Bass Generation UK tour, hosting all the events. This coupled with his appearances on various Clubland events has marked Ben out as a star of the future.

Ben has also turned his hand to song writing and can be heard on recent collaborations with Alex K, Head Hunters, Vibeout, Outsource, Sound Selektaz, Northern Allstars, Total Controle, and Bounce Heaven. Most of these tracks can be found on Dance Music compilations. So look out for more song releases coming soon to your record stores.

John has been playing in clubs since November 2000, when he gained his first ever experience of playing to a crowd at The Riverside in Seacombe. Although unpaid, and not exactly Pacha, it gave John a taste of what playing music to more than your bedroom walls was like.

Things picked up in the summer of 2001, when John, who had amassed a tidy collection of Scouse House and Happy Hardcore vinyls, gained a residency at one of the North of Englands premier under 18’s events, Ibiza Mania. This residency gave him the chance to play the 2 styles of music he loved most. Along with Ibiza Mania, came a residency at Vibealite, a big player in the hardcore scene. John was employed to advertise events on message boards, and in return, received bookings at various Vibealite events, some low key, others off the scale, including a set covering DJ Demand in the main room at Fantasy Island in 2002, and sets alongside the likes of Sy, Hixxy and Scott Brown in Yokrshire among many other places on a regular basis. He enjoyed bookings across England, Scotland and Wales with Vibealite, Ibiza Mania and other hardcore promoters until 2004, when he decided to push himself further in the Scouse House /UK Bounce scene.

John was noticed by clubbers in the Bounce Scene in 2003, by giving out free CDs on message boards, on a monthly basis, giving him a online fanbase, and this helped him gain bookings at small scale venues around the North West throughout 2004 and 2005, but it was early 2006 when things kicked off.

Now in 2010 John Neal is in the elite club of DJs within the scene for track selection, technical ability behind the decks, superb scratching and is not shy of releasing a hit track from time to time, by admission of himself he does not push himself in the studio department enough, but were behind john on this because he concentrates on quality rather than quantity.

There is no venue in the UK that plays Bounce that john has not performed at and recently has been taking more work in Spain alongside his Frequency events that run in season in Magaluff in Majorca.

As a group, the Hyper Deejays have been performing professionally for over Six years.

But you may also recognize them as individual artists too, the group consists of DJ’s Jacko who has a career spanning over 13 years and has roots back to the good old days of Monroes and Maxims, next up you have Kyle RV, although all three of the Hyper Deejays process production skills, Kyle’s main role when he is not performing is engineering , and last but by no means least is DJ Slam, he ran a successful series of nights namely passion at club 53 in Burnley & Technics academy in Manchester and has been on the DJ circuit for over 7 years at pro level.

To date, the biggest event to feature the Hyper Deejays was the massive 3500-sellout Bounce Heaven vs. Frantic, at Tall Trees Superclub in Yarm.

Hyper Deejays produce their own music and release it through their own record label, Bouncy Beatz. To date they have over 30 official releases, as well as countless bootlegs and unsigned remixes.

Throughout the UK Bounce scene Hyper Deejays are one of the best known names, not only because of their flawless mixes and crisp productions, but also their ability to fill a dancefloor and provide a good time – a talent which has seen them leave their hometown of Blackburn to play in down-under heat of Australia in the NRG Scene.

DNA are New to the scene as of late 2008, but by no means don’t let that fool into thinking these two Producers are new comers, front man Dean M has more aliases than Bin laden , he produces under a variety of aliases, the extremely well known names of “Bad Behaviour” & “The Naughty boyz” are the most prolific to date , all of which are signed to chosen DJ’s roster.

Owner of studio 56 a modern day hit factory for the bounce scene he teamed up with the extremely talented Andy Thompson aka Andy T, at the time Andy was working under the guise of SGAT Project but moved on from this early project to form the illustrious DNA.

Andy is a talent behind the decks too with scratching and tight mixing which has seen him secure residencies at gigs all over the northwest including the infamous oldskool outfit “Zone”

DNA’s first hit was “Someone like you” which firmly placed them on the radar of the current UK Bounce circuit.

A recently formed new label from these two to coincide with the release of a major new UK Bounce mp3 site has already seen them shoot to the top of the charts and looks promising for DNA’s future.

When people talk about polished professional performances in the dance world, one name crops up time & time again – that of Karen Danzig.

Audiences the world over are always thrilled by Karen’s onstage energy & great live vocals.

Karen is a real musician, having trained as a classical vocalist & achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Music & Performing Arts, & a Post Graduate Diploma in Acting & Musical Theatre. She has paid her dues in the music world, having previously enjoyed a career in jazz, pop & musical theatre. She has toured the globe with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and is in much demand as a vocal coach. She is also a gifted songwriter, having written hits not only for herself, but for many others.
Surprisingly, Karen was brought up by profoundly deaf parents with a deaf sister & hearing brother.

Her earliest recording project was with legendary pop producers Stock & Aitken, an exciting start to her career in music, fronting a ‘Blondie-esque’ pop-rock band called The Park. She continued writing pop with the likes of Ricky Wilde (Kim’s brother & songwriter) & Sam Bergliter (Lisa Stansfield).

Karen exploded onto the dance scene with the classic anthem Heartbeatz, with Hardcore legends Styles & Breeze, reaching a No. 16 position in the UK Top 40 charts and featuring on many Clubland and Floorfillers compilations, as well as the huge-selling Now That’s What I Call Music 60.
The provocative video for Heartbeatz, featuring Karen in sexy lingerie on a heartshaped bed, kept it at the top of the Box TV Video charts for four consecutive weeks.

Since then Karen has been on the speed dial of the UK’s top dance producers & labels, lending her vocal talents to many tracks by Styles & Breeze, Flip n Fill, Love To Infinity, Micky Modelle, Billy Bunter, Kenny Hayes, and countless others, on labels such as All Around The World, Ministry Of Sound, Sony ATV, & Serious Records.

Karen’s success continues, having been chosen to front all UK P.A.s for massive No. 10 UK chart hit ‘Dancing In the Dark’ (Micky Modelle), still a huge club tune.
She featured prominently on the sell-out CLUBLAND LIVE UK Arena Tour, with major dance acts Cascada, Scooter, Ultrabeat, Flip & Fill, Kelly Llorenna, and many more…
She has also performed to over 50,000 kids on the Choices For Life arena tour with the McDonald Brothers (X Factor) & Keith Jack (Any Dream Will Do) for 2 years running.

Last summer she sang on the Clubland Ibiza tour, & also fronted P.A.s for Tall Paul at BCM – Majorca, & for major pop-dance act Uniting Nations all across Europe.

This spring sees Karen joining the Hard 2 Beat DANCE NATION arena tour with Sash, Basshunter, September, Booty Luv, Angel City & many more…

Her latest release & accompanying video, La La La, with the Sound Selektaz, recently reached the Top 5 in the Music Week Commercial Pop Top 30 & is rapidly becoming a club favourite.

Now another promising chapter is being written for Karen, with her brand new project, ‘RADIOLA’, a collaboration with Ivor Novello winning songwriter Bill Padley (4 international & UK No.1 hit records, including Atomic Kitten’s Whole Again & That’s My Goal for Shayne Ward).
This exciting project combines great pop songs with great dance grooves, reflecting her influences and passion for pop-dance. Featuring a selection of original songs and classic covers, it promises to be a major release, ready-made for radio.
Watch this space! – Karen Danzig is a name you’ll be hearing for quite some time…
